How we evaluate buying decisions
This publication differentiates provider-documented facts, source-based editorial assessments and independently tested results. At launch, our reviews are editorial research and documentation analysis; we do not claim to have completed standardized hands-on tests.
Our five core questions
- Who is it for? Memory-led relationships and media-centric roleplay are not interchangeable.
- What is actually included? We distinguish trial access, free messages, subscription entitlements and separately charged media.
- How is pricing represented? We separate a monthly charge from a monthly equivalent of an annual prepayment.
- Which evidence supports a claim? Our preferred sources are vendor documentation and published terms; screenshots and our own measured test cases will be added only when available.
- What is unverified? Missing figures stay unknown. Unknowns are not treated as a negative feature score or as a positive benefit.
About editorial shortlists
The Companion Finder uses a transparent editorial-fit profile for each service, not fabricated benchmark scores. It shows why a product fits a selected use case and cautions when evidence is incomplete. It excludes unclear free-access programs from strict free-only filtering. Affiliate availability does not affect ranking.
Test protocol for future firsthand research
When firsthand testing is performed, we will record account tier, date, steps, screenshots, usage credits and results. Memory tests should include fact recall, correction and delayed sessions. Media tests should use repeated prompts and document consumed credits. Results will not be retroactively presented as tests that were never run.
Updates and correction process
Pricing is checked against listed sources as of its displayed documentation-review date, not necessarily real checkout. If prices or rules change, pages and the structured service record should be updated together. Send corrections through Contact.
